Three Counties Tour earns over €2k for Charity

Innisfree Wheelers in association this year with Kevin Egan Cars, staged a very successful Three Counties Leisure Cycle event in early June.

The Three Counties event has now been running for over twenty years. The event was started by Wheelers stalwart John Greene who came up with the idea of running a leisure cycle to aid local charities. There was no such thing as leisure cycling events back then, prior to the founding of Innisfree Wheelers and the vast numbers of leisure clubs that have mushroomed since 2005, when Innisfree Wheelers was formed.

Thanks to the huge turn out of cyclists this year and their efforts over an undulatiog bur very scenic 90 kilometre course- the event earned €2,200 which was donated to a very worthy local charity – Friends of Cregg.

The presentation of the cheque took place recently with members of the Wheelers, Kevin Egan Cars staff and committee members of Friends of Cregg present. Representing the charity, Eddie Sheehan thanked Innisfree Wheelers and all participants in the event for their hard work in earning this huge amount which will go directly to helping the recipients in the local area.

Chairman of Innisfree Wheelers Paul Flynn said the Wheelers were more than happy to be of assistance to such worthy local causes. Paul also thanked Kevin Egan and his team at Kevin Egan Cars, not only for their financial input, but also the great effort which they put into the promotion of the event.
