Sunday the 28th of January started with the now familiar rain in early morning. However, thankfully this did not deter the forty five Innisfree Wheelers from turning up at the Knocknarea Arena for our first Club Sunday spin of 2018.
On a Club Sunday all members cycle together – regardless of experience or cycling ability.
By 10am the drizzle had cleared and we set off in mixed groups of eight riders at five minute intervals on the road towards Dromahair.
By 11am most riders had reached their coffee stop at The Blue Devon, Dromahair. Here, all Wheelers enjoyed a nice chat and a hot drink and some delicious scones.
Eddie Ryan, the most senior member of our club was given a token birthday cake as he celebrates his 79th birthday on Monday the 29th of January.

It was then time to head off in the direction of Slish Wood for all riders and they enjoyed the brief interval of sunshine as they rode effortlessly along the scenic route that eventually took them back to IT Sligo via Carraroe, Oakfield and Finisklin.
This was the first such event for the club in 2018 and we hope to have many more during the year. Keep up the training!
