The National Time Trials were held in Castlebar on Saturday 5th of September in very blustery weather conditions. Among the veteran riders competing were Seamus McGowan and Timmy McCarthy.

In spite of the very windy conditions, Seamus cycled the 40k course in a personal best time of 64:27. This was an outstanding cycle for Seamus who was riding his new TT bike for the first time. Timmy McCarthy posted a very respectable time of 77:58. Considering thet Timmy was riding an ordinary road bike, this was a very good time also.

Seamus, along with Collette Hennigan have been consistent riders in the Connaught TT league throughout the summer of 2009.
