One of the biggest sporting events of the year happens in Sligo on weekend 24th to 27th June 2010 with the staging of the Irish Cycling National Championships. What is very important is that you turn out to support the members of our club who will be taking part this year in this event.

* Colette Hennigan will be in action in the Ladies Time Trial (20km) on Thursday evening the 24th June - on Collooney - Sligo dual carriageway  and the Ladies (48 Mile) race on Saturday 26th at Collaney. We wish Colette the best of luck in these events.

* Seamus McGowan and Paul Keogh will be competing in the vets and senior mens time trial (40km) respectively on Thursday the 24th, Collooney - Sligo dual carriageway  also.

* Seamus McGowan will be in the vets race (64 miles) on Saturday 26th June at Collaney.

* Paul Keogh will be in the Senior Men's race (99 miles) on Sunday 27th June at Sligo Town (Drum road circuit that Mark Scanlon won the event on).

* Alan Kelly may be a competitor in the tandem event also.

Among Paul Keogh's opponents in the senior race will be AG2R (Tour De France 2009 & 2010) rider and defending Irish Champion Nicolas Roche (pictured above). The best of luck to Colette, Paul, Seamus and Alan and any member of Eire Óg CC or Sligo Triathlon club who competes in these events.

If you wish to help out with the marshalling of the event then please  contact any member of our committee or contact any member of the hosting club, Eire Óg CC.
