Road Touring

IWCC are pleased to be associated with a local tour called The Three Counties organized by our secretary John Greene. This tour has been running successfully for a number of years and has raised large amounts of money for charity. It will take place on Saturday 27th of May 2006.

Anyone who thinks that  they can ride a bike for over fifty miles are more than welcome to participate at their own pace. There are a number of feeding stations along the way and and one major rest stop in Kinlough.

The route leaves The Institute of Technology Sligo and takes the N16 for Manorhamilton. Turning left in the village, the tour heads out the R280 passing through some  breath taking scenery along Glenade. The half-way point with the rest stop is in Kinlough and from there to Bundoran. Turning left here the cyclists enjoy a panoramic view of the Atlantic coast as they return to Sligo on the N15.
