Sligo - Ballymote - Keash - Ballinfad - Sligo

76km

Grade - Moderate

Starting at Sligo IT, turn left on to Ash Lane and right down The Mall. Cycle up Pearse Road to Carraroe roundabout. Exit left for old N4 road to Ballisodare/Collooney. At Collooney turn right on N17 for Ballymote direction. After 3km turn left at Clarkes bridge over railway line onto main Ballymote road. Continue up main street Ballymote and at the bottom of the hill turn left for Keash. Continue on this road for about 10 kilometres and turn left for Ballinafad. Be careful going onto the main N4 road when turning right for Sligo. Continue on the main N4 all the way to Sligo. If cycling in a group on this road it is advisable to cycle single file on the stretch from Castlebaldwin to Cloonamahon because there is no hard shoulder here. At Collooney there is the choice to continue on dual carriageway or take the old road into Sligo. After Hughes bridge take care crossing to Ash Lane at Duck Park traffic lights.
