Lough Gill: This route covers about
40 Kilometres and goes around Lough Gill (clockwise) passing through the
picturesque village of Dromahair in County Leitrim. The scenery is
spectacular then passing Slish wood and Dooney rock on the return to
Sligo town.
Glencar Lough: This route
also covers about 40 Kilometres and has a number of options to extend this
distance up to 70 Kilometres. The route (clockwise) heads towards
Drumcliff, into Glencar passing close to the lake shore and follows
this up to the "upper" Glencar road. There is a choice then of left
for Manorhamilton or right for return to Sligo town.
Mullaghmore: This route
(about 70 Kilometres) heads out north on the main Bundoran road and turns
towards the Atlantic at Cliffoney village. The circuit around the
village of Mullaghmore is one of the most awesome scenes on the west
coast. With a backdrop of Classibawn castle and spectacular cliffs and
surf below, a cyclist can easily be distracted by the beauty of the
locality. Club members recently featured in a photo-shoot in this area.

Three Counties: This is one
of the longer routes (about 60 miles) taking in Sligo, Leitrim and South
Donegal. Starting towards Manorhamilton, and then turning in the
direction of Bundoran in Manorhamilton village. This takes the rider
through beautiful Glenade. There is a choice of road then at the village
of Kinlough. The route can return along the bottom of Ben Wiskin
mountain at Ballintrillick (a quiet country road) or take the main road
from Bundoran back to Sligo via the villages of Tullaghan, Cliffoney and
Grange
South Sligo: Passing
through Sligo town, this route can take many directions at Carraroe,
just 3 miles south of the town. One of the favorites is via Ballygawley
and on through Riverstown to Castlebaldwin. Here again there is a
choice, with Ballymote being an option, before returning to Sligo town.
The route via Ballymote covers about 35 miles. Going to Boyle from
Castlebaldwin will extent this route to over 60 miles.
West Sligo: Pass through
Sligo town and take the old road towards Ballisodare. Turn right for
Ballina. At Skreen (about 17 miles out), this route can swing left up
"The Lady's Brae". This is the one for serious hill
climbers. Other options to continue to Dromore West and return via
the coast road for some beautiful scenery. Distances can vary from 40
miles to 60 miles
