Innisfree Wheelers Registration

INTERESTED IN JOINING INNISFREE WHEELERS CYCLING CLUB ?

We are renewing our club membership for 2024 and also welcoming new members over 18 years old to sign up. All cyclists who register with our club are required to sign up with Cycling Ireland as part of the registration policy. This entitles cyclists to dedicated insurance and a great variety of cycling info. through the cycling Ireland website and HUB.
Depending on your cycling ability there are options for you within Innisfree wheelers and below is a basic description of our club cycles.
> A Group - average 70 /100 km on Sunday spins
> B Group -average 50/80 km on Sunday spins
> C group -average 30/50 km on Sunday spins

For people who are interested in joining the club you are very welcome to join our organised spins. These depart from the Sligo IT arena car park off Ash Lane on Sunday mornings ( A,B & C groups start @ 10am please arrive at least 15minutes early) The spins are registered on our Facebook page the day before showing proposed route and distance .Its a great opportunity to meet fellow cyclists and of course the coffee/cake stop is always the highlight of every spin.
The only requirement is a roadworthy bike and a cycling helmet. Please make sure you wear well padded shorts/pants and top suitable for the weather conditions and visibility. Interested cyclists are initially covered by insurance for 3 club spins and then are required to sign up as as a club and cycling Ireland member.

For people who have just taken up or returned to cycling and are a little anxious about cycling in groups or worried about their ability to cycle longer distances there are other options to look at before signing up to the Innisfree wheelers.

Innisfree Wheelers Bike for Life : not guaranteed to happen every year but on occasions qualified trainers within the club volunteer to carry out an intensive cycling course for beginners which covers cycling techniques and safety. This course will be advertised on our Facebook page and website .

Sligo Sports & Recreation Bike for Life: A 6 week programme through Sligo County Council to build cycling fitness and safety. This course is advertised through sligosportandrecreation.ie and Facebook.

Axa Community Bike Rides :This programme provides opportunities to take part in solo or group rides in their local community. This course is advertised on cycling Ireland.ie and Axa Facebook page.

Bike Like Me promotion through Cycling Ireland website.
